How to configure MS Outlook
The following instructions and screenshots are for MS Outlook 2010. Older versions of Outlook (and Outlook Express) are very similar in style and the server settings should be the same as outlined here.
Amending account details for alternative mail clients or devices will be different but, again, the settings should be the same.
Should you require additional assistance with this please get in touch.
From within Outlook, Select File > Account Settings
Highlight the mail acocunt you want to modify and select Change.
Check Incoming and Outgoing servers are set to westhall.footholds.net.
Click the More Settings… button.
Select the Outgoing Server tab and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Check Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
Select the Advanced tab.
Set Incoming server (POP3) port to 995
Tick This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
Set Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 465
Set Use the following type of encrypted connection to SSL
Select OK button
Click Next button
The account should then run an automatic test for both incoming and outgoing servers. Assuming this test runs OK, Select Close and Finish.
